It took 42 pages of story flashbacks to bring us back to present where Mazzy finds herself in a crater. The world building is a little choppy and confusing, which I can work with. My only issue is connecting with the main character. I find my mind wandering and it takes me 30 minutes to read less than 10 pages. I'm going to have to DNF this one for now. I love the description and will come back to it another time.
