Very repetitive and boring, the arrival of the astronaut had no consequence, despite being built up as a potentially very disruptive/conflict generating part for the story.
Michael DeForge has some talent but lacks the distance to understand his work. Reading this is like listening to an opera with a single triangle playing versions of the same melody over and over

Same as before, this book could be 1/10th in length and it would be a way better book

The 6 panel structure plays against the book. Forcing every scene to be isolated in a page and 6 panels makes everything feel even more repetitive and boring. Every scene has the same rhythm

The book repetition only becomes more annoying the further one reads into the book. Sadly the book really suffers from its format . Each page contains 6 panels. Each page telling a single isolated mini story or scene. This 6 act structure gives the same rhythm to the story, makes the jokes sound more formulaic and tiresome

The illustrations are nice and the universe is quite charming and interesting . But the author repeats too much the same situations and ideas.it is a shame because hearing the same joke again and again, robs it of its initial charm. One becomes tired of the style, It is quite a big book already, so having all that repetition is unnecessary and having a more leaner book would be way more beautiful.

Jason gave me this for Xmas last year and I’m finally reading it. I see why he likes graphic novels - it’s like if a movie was a book and also, there’s well-timed jokes!
