Gotta admit, I did NOT see me liking and admiring *him* coming, and yet here we are 😁

I'll always be a sucker for the non-human MC who's clueless about human society (which is why I've reread Angel Martinez's A Christmas Cactus for the General so many times, but I digress...) Ellie is absolutely adorable, & I'm right there with Felix irt being completely pissed off at the way he's been taught to see himself as broken. (And by pissed off, I ofc mean I'm here for ALL the delicious hurt/comfort vibes!)

While I thought the writing was good and I found the world and various cultures fascinating (well done!), I will not finish the book.
1) The cover presents as a light, possibly humorous mood; the story was not.
2) I could not get past the chapter where force feeding was the topic - and a metaphor for forced sex for those who fed off of sexual energy.

I'm heart broken. This was touted as a comedic romance and just had sanctioned r*pe of a potential spouse. There were absolutely no warnings, either. How dare the author not warn readers!

New to this author and narrator. It's the title that made me grab it.
I'm thoroughly enjoying it so far.
