Surround yourself with those who want you to succeed, who recognize what it takes to be successful. People who don’t pursue their own dreams probably won’t encourage you to pursue yours; they’ll tell you every negative thing they tell themselves.

Book is amazing so far.

It’s fine. The dark side stuff is just plain wrong. But there’s some good truths in here. Basically that successful people have the will to prepare is my takeaway so far. The book motivates me when I read it but there’s not a lot of like quality additions to my life.

To be great is to be feared, and then respected for doing exactly what everyone feared you would do

Do the work. There is no privilege greater than the pressure to excel, and no greater reward than earning the respect and fear of others who can only stand in awe of your results.

Our challenge in life is to use the abilities we have, and to compensate for the abilities we don’t have. It’s completely instinctive; we compensate in order to survive.
