I cannot lie, I’m having a great time. Not much plot, but I love the characters so far! Each motivation feels different enough, though the voices are a tad similar. But that tends to happen in these lotr high fantasies when the beginning is world exposition. I’m excited to keep going!!

It’s looking grim and we are apparently still assembling a group of good guys to stop the evil. Realistically they’d already be dead but then I wouldn’t have more book to read so it’s whatever. I see why this is a whole series now. I am enjoying how the characters are engaging with each other. Also very grateful Victoria did not decide to make the 33 year old man sleep with the 19 year old girl. Yuck.
