I was intrigued by the premise of this book and the history of this famous hotel. Unfortunately, I didn't enjoy this book and decided not to finish it (which is rare for me). There were so many characters that spanned the chapters it was hard to keep up with. It was also a very sad book not only because of the sad circumstances of the characters but also the authors tone and their opinion of the time period.

This book is making me nostalgic for a world I never knew.
