We’ve now gotten a bunch of background on Polly Chalmers. She’s got a past that’s shes hidden from Alan and we’re not sure why that’s such a big deal. The reader is totally taken by surprise by watching all these characters destroy each other’s lives as they’re under Gaunt’s spell. We’re so curious what his end game is here. Why does he want everyone to turn on each other?
