Some chapters gave me a shiver down my spine. But the overall sexual explicit undertones are just so cringe.

This book stinks. The premise is so interesting and in the hands of someone who understands or likes people it could have been great. Instead we get scenes after scene of unlikable cardboard cutouts complaining about things with 0 self reflection. Every person in this book is insufferable. I hope their souls get eaten soon so I can read something worthwhile.

I somewhat want to DNF but damn it’s so hard for me to do so. I’m not liking what’s being done to the female characters. This is very grotesque 90s, being written in the 90s, It makes sense. As I’ve got older, I don’t like gratuitousness anymore. I like the exploration on capitalism and big box stores but the satirical metaphor is not working. Let’s see what I end up doing. Turn my brain off.
