Taking me ages to get into this one

This book has held me from the moment I started. It is gripping and so descriptive. The style of writing and changing the order from past to present allow us a deeper look into the characters and their lives and decisions. I can’t imagine a story written more compelling. It does have so much childhood abuse, neglect, and trauma but the blunt writing makes this a stark reminder of the reality for so many.
