I’ve read a few of Zaire’s books and by now I recognize that, as part of her formula, that at some point the fmc has to run away from her lover. Putting herself in even more danger because “he’s a bad man”. This is to create conflict and trigger some sort of action sequence. Zaire’s does great action sequences but the approach is tired. The fmc was just stupid and now I’m pissed off.
