Status Updates From Tristan (Grim Sinners MC, #6)

TRISTAN POV - I laugh at this pathetic excuse of a man, “I am a sinner, yes, but more so, I am the grim fucking Reaper.” I put my face right in front of his wanting him to look me in my eyes. I can see his fear. “It's time for me to fucking reap.”

“I am not going to let you die, no. You are going back to your leader, you are going to tell him that he is a fucking dead man. Tell him the Sinners are coming for him.”

“For a disciple girl, you sure aren’t acting like it.” I hear a man yell across the parking lot. Fear hits me hard. The parking lot is completely empty except for us.

Tristan pushes me gently behind him, putting his body in between me and the person who just yelled. He doesn’t say anything back, he just stares into the dark waiting for the person to show themselves, on full alert.

“I hope you know, the lady in us goes right out the window when it comes to seafood,” I point out.
He laughs, “Darling, you could have four eyes and I would still think you are beautiful.”
Michaela puts her hand under her face staring at him, “Aww Tristan! That was nice.”
He is really nice.
Tristan scoots forward and takes her little hand in his, “You are beautiful too, little lady.”

I take out my phone and call Techy, the Devil Souls tech guy. “Hey, I just murdered someone in the bathroom of the jump house in your town. Can you erase the footage for me?”

“Wait? Why?” He says, but I hear him typing away.

“A fucking cult member hurt Lynn.”

I hear him cuss under his breath, “Well fuck yeah I can. Do you need me to send the prospects to clean up?”

“That would be fucking great."

I have always felt the urge to protect everyone around me.
But with Michaela and Lynn?
It's raw, it's intense, and I would do anything and everything to make sure they are protected. I would destroy the whole fucking world for them and I wouldn’t hesitate.

He reaches over to me and I hold breath waiting for his first touch. His finger glides gently across my cheekbone, pushing a stray hair behind my ear.

“You're beautiful.” He says softly, his eyes hooded looking at me.

I’m on the steps watching Tristan throw the ball to Michaela. She has the biggest smile on her face, eating up all of the attention he is giving her.

The same smile on my face, too. It doesn’t matter why he is here. What matters is that he is making my baby girl happy.

Tristan takes her free hand, “Michaela, can you look at me?” He asks gently.

She gives him her full attention, “I want you to know how sorry I am that happened to you but I also want you to know that you will never, ever see him again. I will make sure of that.”

She looks at him full of hope, “Promise?” Her little sweet voice asks him.

“I promise sweetheart, you're safe with me always.”
