I haven't really been able to get into Chekhov's plays the way I have his short-stories--all I have left is Uncle Vanya, though I'm keeping my expectations down. Really, the only play here I really liked was a one-act monologue called On the Harmfulness of Tobacco, which I thought was absurdly droll. It's an old trope, the hen-pecked husband, but I guess I'm philistine enough to still find it funny.
