Status Updates From Devil's Reign: Superior Four

Just finished the Spider-Man Devil’s Reign issue, and it was pretty good! An immediate follow-up to Human Torch and The Thing breaking him out of jail, as well as an interesting look into the whole “Beyond Corporation” thing from an outsider who really hasn’t followed that along at all.

As much as I wish Peter Parker was present during this event, Ben Reilly has been a pretty good stand-in, all in all.

And one last thing; move over, Baby Yoda, Baby-Otto-Man-Thing is *adorable.*

That thing is too cute. I wonder if he’ll ever show up again.

A couple of moments that stood out to me, was, I love how Otto says he “doesn’t believe in magic” while literally talking directly to a variant of himself whose skull is on fire and works for the devil. I don’t know how you get around that one, Octavius.

And overall, Supreme Octopus was just dope. Is he one of the strongest Sorcerer Supreme variants we’ve seen so far? Casting multiversal magic???

I’ve just finished the main mini, I’ll come back for Spider-Man later.

All in all, I didn’t think it was *that* bad. At least not as bad as these reviews say.

While it does barely have any effect on the overarching event, it seems like it’ll have a significant impact on Otto’s story going forward.

I’d only recommend if you’re a big fan of Doc Ock, other than that it’s really not a necessary read.
