Crazy to think that after the war against Nazis in Germany that black Americans had to go back home to still fight the war of evil racism against them. Talk about a test of fight and might!

Booker T. Washington using his duplicitous approach to his life within slavery opened my eyes to all the things blacks had to do to march towards freedom. So many wrongful doings to people of my race just about 80 to 100 years ago keep me grounded in the blessed reality I get to live in today. I am very grateful to those who came before me to allow me the life of freedom I experience in today's time.

Good reads about how black families were deeply community based and had great togetherness throughout all the things thrown at them to maintain their freedom in the start of the 1900s.
