I love the bickering between temper and shorty.

“God, do you know how beautiful you are?” I ask in awe, lost to the tranquility which blankets her features. She must know how stunning she is, if not I’ll tell her every day. She blushes, dropping her gaze to my bare chest as I draw her closer. “I mean it, Sapphire. You’re everything to me. Everything pure and everything perfect.” 

"Don't you growl at me, mister, or I'll pluck out your vocal cords and feed them to the damn piranhas," I grit in complete mockery, the last word spoken on a juvenile whine. His eyes widen. Comical, until he screws up his nose and responds with a pout, "They don't even like vocal cords."  "They'll like yours."

So far, I'm really liking their relationship!
