Interesting perspective on how deference politics—aka listening to the most marginalized voices—isn’t as progressive as it sounds, since it usually means listening to voices that have already made it into the room. What’s the alternative, then?

“Elite capture happens when the advantaged few steer resources and institutions that could serve the many towards their own narrow interests and aims.”

Constructive (as opposed to deference) politics: focusing on the outcome and not the process, pursuing specific goals rather than merely avoiding complicity.

“Is identity politics an essential tool utilized by the bourgeoisie to maintain its class domination over the working class by keeping workers divided along racial and gender lines?”

“The age of intersectional empire is upon us.”
