He particularly contrasts the Catholic position with the Reformed/Calvinist. Both Catholics and the Reformed can agree that salvation is by grace. But C and R have disagreements about how grace works—C believe that God’s grace changes our actions and whole lived life toward holiness. R, if I understand correctly (having been in R churches for many yrs), have a view of salvation that is largely external & legal.

Salvation is personal. But it is also communal (so many scriptures quoted talking about the church as body of Christ…). Nearly halfway through and this book is rich! Should be read by every Protestant who thinks Catholicism is about salvation by works.
