The way she is able to break down science and microbiology into a jargon-free form is incredible. She brings highly technical data to the masses and makes incomprehensible comprehensible. 10/10. I also just love how she writes. Poetic perfection. She makes abstract scenes tangible

WOW. One of the best authors I’ve ever read. The way she interweaves natural history with her own personal history is spectacular

nonfiction audiobook time

As somebody studying vector-borne diseases, I am very much looking forward to reading this book. Chagas disease is a menace in the Americas.

So much better than I thought it would be! So sad right now but I feel like I’m noticed a lot of Hernandez’s literary elements for this book and it’s making it more fun for me
