The plot progression is a bit predictable and on the nose, but written well. However, what really elevates this book is the fight scenes. Jennings really knows how to write action.

'Your Paper Quest' book - This was sold as, "wild west meets alien samurai", but I found that premise off-putting. Now that I'm a few chapters into it, I can say it is actually much better that sounded. It has that ragtag team style to it that has characters loud personalities bouncing off of each other, and it is nothing if not entertaining.

What a really cool idea. If you have a race that can change the color and patterns on their skins to reflect mood and camouflage, incorporate this ability to be able to silently communicate.

Very good so far. If I had to characterize the book as quickly as possible, it would be “alien ninjas vs. cowboys” at this point in the story.
