JouJou is 40% done

Like world building in general I am confused as to what this city actually looks like. I keep wondering if people go about their lives knowing the monsters are popping in. Like Kaiju no8? What is normal?

The other thing is maturity. Stupid nicknames and phrases. The trauma/utterly horrific discrimination juxtaposed on juvenile banter is jarring. Struggling with it.

Haven’t picked it back up in a while. They’re into each other now enough that it’s a little schmoopy and I’m losing interest. Also, I don’t really see much of the actual relationship developing. They never have any conversations that aren’t about either their job, or divulging their tragic pasts.
