Wow, I'm loving this book. Levin has such a fine feel for language and for detail. Here, for example:

"Ben sees Eddie Millman jiving down the sidewalk. Ben’s best friend. Here he comes. Jaunty, moving with a rolling gait to a rhythm only he can hear."
