It's awful to see how the Ukrainian government played with those people's health, the peon, the lowest on the totem pole. While the fat cats where away, maybe on holiday out of the country. Letting the others rot for their stupidity. It angers me. If I were alive back then (I was born on May 1986.) I would have tried to help them anyway possible. This book has opened my eyes to a world I've never seen before.

You know, I'm appalled just reading this. Those poor people. It makes me wonder how safe nuclear energy is. I gotta continue reading about this topic. But on the bright side, I love how this author brought light into this subject. His writing is casual, almost as a diary. We see what happened from his point of view but also we get facts -really important ones- and because of the way it was written it's interesting.

The large cover up that the Soviet Union tried to pull, well, it worked for a couple of weeks, even months. All those poor people that got contaminated for no reason. It makes me wonder what this government and governments around the world are trying to cover up. Nothing seems to be what it seems to be.
