rant about useless footnotes aside, content-wise i'm really enjoying this book, there are a bunch of thoughts i'm really resonating with. but from the technical point of view, all the footnotes and a surprising amount of typos, their first book was definitely better.

also half way through the book, if i took a shot everytime there was a footnote about how "we'll discuss insert x in a later chapter" i'd actually be drunk. like i don't need to know that, i sure as hell don't need to be constantly flipping to the back of the book for such useless infomation.

this book has too many footnotes. yes i love footnotes as much as the next person, and in their first book they were fun and added some bonus content. but when you have 416 footnotes in a not even 200 page book that's way too fucking many. also, footnotes like "prví apoštoli" - teda nasledovníci ježiša krista or "apoštol peter" - známy ako sv. peter like why not just put that in the actual text.

this part absolutely mind boggled me:
"väčšina ľudí, ktorí boli v tej dobe pre svoje nasledovanie ježiša zabití, nezomreli pre to, čomu verili. to sa deje stále, to nie je ničím výnimočné. nezomierali za učenie, ale za osobu. zomreli pre to, čomu verili: totiž, že videli - vzkrieseného záchrancu."
like i get what you're trying to say but also you just absolutely contradicted yourself
