She is contemplating whether she wants to cut off her foot because it might kill her, but if she does, she won't go to college because she got a scholarship for running, so if she loses it, she loses it all and gets no college. She also finds Flint doing it. very convenient

The book starts by describing everyone. I'm skipping some parts typing about it becuase its drama and stuff that takes too much room. After she fall she passes out. She does stuff to her foot to try not to get it infected. She still gets infected. She has a lot of reminiscing about her past and what she learned from a guy called Davy, all about how to survive.
