From Laphams backmatter emails of excerpts from past articles, “On January 30, 1815, Congress decided to buy 6,487 books from former president Thomas Jefferson to replace the Library of Congress collection destroyed during the War of 1812. It wasn’t the entirety of Jefferson’s library;...” Wow! Where does he keep all those books. He does have plantations. I didn’t know that many were available.
