Status Updates From Faith, Hope and Carnage

Boredom courting epiphanies. Improvisation as loving, if dissonant, collaboration. The vocalized word versus the word on the page. Creative possession. What one gives - in life and in absence. Life as kintsugi. Creativity as storytelling and sense-making. Parental love as an undercarriage.

Skepticism as a forge for our beliefs. Rigid rationale ruling out the divine - to our detriment. The “terrible beauty of grief” as “the covenant of life and death.” Freedom in annihilation. Vulnerability turned invincibility. An articulate hand squeeze bestowed upon the bereaved.

“Spirituality with rigor.” “The utility of belief.” God is the search and the trauma. Conversation as a corrective. Poetic truth. Sacred songs. The world’s inherent beauty. Grief as a catalyst for the “conversion of the spirit.”

Haven’t logged owt on here despite jotting these updates down, but I’ve been enjoying this dialogue so far.

License to be and not do: powerlessness made potential. The transcendence of the ordinary. Imagined worlds for the dead. Revelation of Meaning on Meaning’s time. Informed artistic accidents. Being(s) held from knowing, not from meaning.

Loving it. The depth and humanity of this man is astonishing. I feel like he has the ability to respect diligence in creation and creativity, without judging output.
