Avril had warned that northern warlords were plotting against brownies. Illeron has decided that Avril shall have more training. He also wonders if the Harpy attack was specifically targeting her. She is comfortable around him, and he likes her spunk even though she often throws things at him.

There was a Harpy attack on the palace that almost killed Avril. Illeron healed her which left him unable to heal himself very well. She is still suffering and collapsed. He let her sleep on his mother's couch while he monitored. He kissed her briefly in his study and Casimir is angry he is considering more with her.

It’s too fast paced and very highlight reel for the book to flow naturally. It all seems so randomly thrown together.
