The loved ones- good solid story, not that memorable besides the fact that it was a younger protagonist which was cool! Two stories in a row abt dying old ppl tho whoa… :(

The art of losing- fuckkkk I need to make a lot of money so I can take care of my parents if they get dementia and/or atrial fibrillation!!!I want a grandchild but I also want a grandparent (I have grandparents) but I also want to be a grandchild to a grandparent(I already am)!!!! my fav story atm! Felt v affectionate for these two old ppl

Skinship- good solid story! Don’t really have a strong opinion on it either way tho. Idk why this story seemed to make more apparent how patriarchal society is tho like damn they just do chores for the uncle…..not like the women didn’t do that in all the other stories too but still

Solo works for piano- just watched tuner so this story was giving very tuner vibes. Interesting how musical instruments seem to attract autistic ppl but also that makes sense

Simplified map of the world- I liked this one a lot! The dynamics of young children of immigrants is so interesting and real af. Also this is a surprisingly local book like omg first bayside now rego park…is the author in the room w me rn

First language- sighhhh having kids and raising them and having an arranged marriage is hard. Good story but idk why the mcs thoughts were written in broken English too and not just her speech it lowkey annoyed me

The church of abundant life: fine story, short but the characters were nicely fleshed out enough. I would be pissed if my husband kept trying to spin my tragedies into a success story
