Essay 6: The Proper Peep: Conflicting Female Ideals Under German National Socialism by Lorettann Gascard
A really punchy, direct thesis with clear structural and rhetorical threads throughout. I enjoyed how flowy this essay was, and how the thesis itself was argued with historical, aesthetic, and artistic nuance despite its seeming simplicity. I wanted more!

Shawn Michelle Smith's essay on the importance of photography to the humanization of African Americans is my favorite so far
They write from such an empathetic lens, this essay made me really happy to read. Every day I learn in a new way that history reading need not be dry

WAOW the essay about scientific propaganda is so compelling so far :) and the maori haka essay made me super happy because of its ending - optimistic, future-facing. I am enjoying the writing style of the former best!
