I ship Alina more with Harlan than the Duke, even though they're almost definitely the same person lol. Alina and Harlan have that forbidden love, meeting in secret, letter exchanges, vigilante, secret identity shit going on. It's more juicy. Alina and the Duke have a more "what's expected" kinda relationship, where even her mother wants them together. Nowhere near as exciting to read.

This whole book is such a vibe. The forbidden love and letter exchanging? Chef's kiss. Secret identity, vigilante MMC? Love that. Victorian era, gothic? I'd never read that kinda setting/genre before, but I'm eating it up.
