I'm enjoying the book, but occasional glitches can throw me off - e.g. use of wrong verb in this sentence: 'In this way, Lewis contested, modern scientists have returned to using “parables,” being unable to speak about ultimate reality apart from making “models.”'
It could be 'asserted' or 'argued' or 'claimed' or 'urged' etc etc. But not really 'contested' since it's his own claim he's advancing.
