I think the reason none of them can really identify each other is because they’re not actually friends. They’re just using each others social status to make themselves look better. They all have the same look, wear the same brands, but they don’t really know each others faces because they’re not friends. They’re colleagues running in the same social circles trying to one up each other.

Patrick being unable to concretely identify the brands Luis Carruthers is wearing because he’s not well dressed is such a good detail and I’m obsessed with it.

Mans bragging about his venetian blinds as if that’s not the standard apartment blinds. Knowing the name doesn’t make them less ugly, Patrick. Also monogrammed boxer shorts at 26 is crazy.

The painting above Patrick’s fireplace sounds sick af, I’m not gonna lie.

I don’t know how anyone could think this is anything other than satire. Really well written satire.

So after reading the first couple sections of this book (April Fools, Morning, and Harry’s) I can definitely say that it’s quite interesting and so also very apparent in its themes and what exactly it’s trying to critique. I’m sure continuing on I’ll see Patrick’s murderous behaviors and his psychotic actions but currently just descriptions and based comments from Patrick just trying to fit in.

Will finish at a later date.

Author just loves clothes and describing them which can be a bit boring but I’m still interested overall
