This is what I mean about bad writing.

It’s heavy-handed. It feels like the author either looked words up in the dictionary or thesaurus to sound so smart or used ai to get her sentence to sound smarter.

I really hate the majority of this book.

Until it hits the weird parts, where she and her son act like dogs and bask in the freedom of it all.

That is good!

Everything else should be thrown into the void, never to be seen or acknowledged ever again.

Why does this book rely so heavily on waxing poetic and outright stating concepts, like womanly freedom and societal expectations set upon women, especially mothers??

Does symbolism and implications mean nothing, Yoder? It would make it much more powerful that way.

Did we just learn about the meaning of patriarchy and the divide of gender, author? Because you won’t stop mentioning it now, and it’s starting to get on my nerves :)
