Finished Tifa's story and dusted Aerith's.
Glad that Rakesh was held accountable and it felt a little like an indictment of incel behavior which is just *chefs kiss*
Aerith's story delivers a lot of details that are fascinating leading to the events that are covered in the games. Almost all very very sad.

This is incredibly well written and I'm deeply engaged with it. It doesn't help that there are no chapters, the book is divided into two sections, Tifa and Aerith. There isn't any traditional "good stopping points" but it's so well done that you don't want to stop anyway.
Fucking hate Rakesh and can tell he's slimy, glad that Jessie and Barrett are getting their debut also The origin of 7th Heaven and Tifa's life

It's crazy how much recovery was needed for tifa after the nibelheim incident

I took a break from the netheril trilogy because while I like it, it's just not grabbing me.
This did almost instantly. It helps that I'm doing a full series run of the games but this is incredibly well written and provides a lot of unexplored backstory and detail for my snaps favorite character and first childhood video game crush.

Great so far. It is fun and interesting to get a deeper dive into the stories of the characters I love.
