Status Updates From Thorn (Dauntless Path #1)

This is darker than I can really tolerate, and a lot darker (I think, anyway) than The Theft of Sunlight. I was 60-some pages into that when I went back to read this because I was confused, but I'm not sure if I'm going to wind up finishing it out or if I should just skim it to get what I need for Theft. Every time I read a few chapters, I wind up feeling unsettled and on-edge.

I'm putting this down for now because it's a little slow for what I want right now. The MC's internal narration is pretty repetitive though I do admire the author's descriptive style and I'm intrigued by the king. It's just I'm 125 pages in and while stuff is happening I don't feel compelled to read on to reach the 500th page rn

I'm invested in the MC and story but I read Bloodleaf last year and a lot of the same plot points are coming up because they are both Goose Girls :) At least this one has the Wind as a character, hopefully it shows up more
