“One little girl who resembles a boy taking pics of the sandcastle even comes up to ask for a selfie.” What the hell kinda sentence is that? I have no idea what’s being conveyed, nor who she resembles or why it’s significant in any way.

If all the characters are talking about how they’ll someday get their period, and one of them “smugly” says “I’m not!” would it be a stretch to assume that character is meant to be trans?
