A rather late night read that I kept putting off but I'm glad I read it. Very interesting to say the least. (On a unrelated self note: 20min reading for what is technically "last week")

One thing I like about this book is that when they're giving information on something that hasn't been explained before they never skip anything. While some characters were talking one asked, "' What, do you all know the Green Ghost?!'" (Mo Xiang Tong Xiu 261). When this question was asked the others there explained how they knew the Green Ghost.

If you saw something going on that you wanted to help stop immediately you might "dart out" (Mo Xiang Tong Xiu 219).

If you saw a shackle on someone in the past you might have "recalled the cursed shackle" (Mo Xiang Tong Xiu 114).

When you hang out with someone you can start to "judge fairly well when the laughter was genuine versus when it was mocking" (Mo Xiang Tong Xiu 65).

When being asked questions about something the person asking you may get off topic "let's keep things clear and separate" (Tong Xiu 26). Xie Lian was being interrogated when his interrogator got off-topic and tried to bring something else up. Xie Lian kindly reminded the interrogator that he had no right to bring that up and requested that he stay on topic.
