Once again our heroine has gone off on her own without a thought for her safety or her family's. I hate this trope.

SPOILER WARNING!If anyone cares, and spoiler tags don't work in the updates. So the ebil stepmother has revealed a deep dark secret to the heroine so that she won't marry the hero in fear of what their children might inherit. Over and above the coupla times they've done the horizontal mumbo jumbo and could be preggers, she runs right out to say goodbye and has sex with him again.

“The man who loves me, who wants my love”— her voice came loud and clear in the stillness —“ will put down his weapon and go.”

Good Lord, is she really that dumb she thinks they'll stop the duel for that?

What could they hope to hide from me in the few hours of night that remain?

I'm guessing no lock will hold our intrepid heroine in her room and she'll find a way to witness the big duel. What say you all?

For a well born miss who is closely chaperoned, this chick sure does get loose a lot without anyone knowing.

I suspect this is going to make the heroine can't stay put shelf :/
