Status Updates From Scattered Showers

i finished the first story this morning and IF THEY’RE ALL GONNA BE LIKE THIS, YOU’LL NEVER SEE ME AGAIN

In Waiting (⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️/5): I absolutely loved this one. It was about a waiting room for book characters. I would read a whole novel about Amy and James. Rainbow Rowell definitely saved the best for last.

Snow For Christmas (⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️/5): This makes me really want to read the Simon Snow Trilogy. I really liked Simon and Baz.

Mixed Messages (⭐️⭐️/5): I hated this one. Just take a fucking pregnancy test. And you’re 49. Why would you even think you’re pregnant? I hated these characters. The husband was the best one. I liked the text format that we got for a bit though.

The Prince and the Troll (⭐️⭐️⭐️/5): This one was weird. I didn’t think any of these stories would be fantastical. This was about a man falling in love with a bridge troll (mermaid?).

If the Fates Allow (⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️/5): This was cute. I don’t think I’ve ever read anything about COVID before though. So that was interesting. And is Reagan the main character of Fangirl? I’ll have to finally read that now.

The Snow Ball (⭐️⭐️⭐️/5): The main girl was kind of insufferable. And I didn’t like the ending much. This was best friends kind of admitting their feelings for each other.

Winter Songs For Summer (⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️/5): This was cute. Even though it was a bit corny? About a girl getting over heartbreak and becoming friends with someone she never would have expected.

Kindred Spirits (⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️/5): Maybe the Star Wars nerd in me is biased. But I enjoyed this one. We have a little group of three people waiting outside for a week to be the first inside to see the newest Star Wars movie. Despite the modern age, where they had already purchased their tickets and didn’t really need to be waiting outside.

Midnights (⭐️⭐️⭐️/5): We see the lives of two people who met on New Year’s Eve. Every subsequent New Year’s Eve. At a party they both attend every year. It was just alright. Not really the best opening to the short story collection.
