Status Updates From Feminism Is for Everybody: ...

Ik had verwacht een introductie van het feminisme. Ze vertelt wel over de stromingen, maar het is heel kritisch haar eigen mening geschreven en vind het teveel verhaal, en moeilijk de structuren van het feminisme te volgen. Niet makkelijk om doorheen te komen.

Another chapter down, another evening wishing I could keep my eyes open. This chap on feminist spirituality didn't speak to me like I hoped it would; it seemed sort of anti-anti-religion, if that makes any sense. Coming to terms with what I believe (or don't believe) means that I don't really agree with "returning to spirituality" as the chap suggests, but im open to the idea of the good it can do for others. tired..

I'm sad that I can't power through to finish this evening, but I'm so tired that I just would not appreciate what i was reading (or be able to write a coherent review about it), so itll have to wait for tomorrow.
The chapter was on Love in feminism, specifically the need to root love in feminism; or, to phrase differently, that "Love can never take root in a relationship built on domination and coercion."

Two sections, on feminist "sexual politics" and on feminism and lesbianism; I found they went hand in hand. Very interesting, I was unsure where the author was going at one point but found she stuck the landing of the point. I'm excited to read the next couple chapters, but I'm interminably hungry and have to take a break first...
