Status Updates From Dead Drop (The Guild)

Book 2 is so disappointing. It reminds me of that rom com that came out years ago with Reese Witherspoon and two so-called spies. Does anybody remember that? Just two Bros mooning over a girl… No plot, no tension, lots of fucking and killing, but to what end? It’s gotten boring. And that’s such a bummer, bc I’m still in love with Leon. He would’ve made such a great lead – I love a good psychopath.

Two other things that are annoying me about Danny. One why isn’t she worried about Carlos? Obviously he’s in trouble. And two, why does she let everybody take compromising pictures of her? Like, she’s supposed to be fully anonymous, right? That seems counterintuitive to me. But also right in line with my general confusion about this character.

OK. The character flaws are not improving! My biggest issue with book 1 was Danny. I thought maybe it would get better… But why does she, a super spy, allow an assassin to just be wheeled into her hotel room on a room service cart? She should’ve checked before eating her pizza and calling her boyfriend, no? This shit is getting annoying.
