Instead of actually describing the tournament Tabar is participating in, author glosses over her victories and instead uses this scene as a way to show her characters bask in the humiliation of men and talk about how much they dislike them.

I’m tired of 21st century feminism talking points being injected into books that take place on an entirely different culture and planet. MAKE IT DIFFERENT!!!

Okay well I seem to have hit a wall with this book.
I definitely want to know how things will turn out in the end, but I’m not AS excited as I was anymore.
Briony’s personality in book 2 ruined everything that was good about her and the story in book 1. I can’t get past that for some reason 😭😭😭

Okay. I’m all for suspending my belief for certain things in fantasy books. But what made Briony change her mind so quickly about marrying Elyan? She spent half of the last book saying that she would not marry Elyan because of this or that reason. B

Now, she accepts it? What changed???
