Aight, so. This was underwhelming.

Fakt jsem si přála, aby to byl skvělej příběh, a taky v první polovině byl, ještě ten meltdown byl dobrej, ale pak to všechno hrozně rychle vyšumělo. Přijde mi, že to původně měla být mnohem delší kniha, co byla najednou utnutá. Výjimečný nápad s naprosto meh koncem.

I thoroughly enjoyed this; ofc I love crazed, rude lesbians. This book felt very human; Sean is a deeply flawed character. While I don’t agree with many of her action’s & approaches, I can still connect her motivations & emotions to their outcomes; which is human! I doubt she’ll follow Riya to Delhi. Riya needs to get that divorce; not even the bare minimum of her efforts are being reciprocated. Sean is still-

Ok, tohle jsem vlastně nečekala. Není to vlastně ani tak plot twist, jako vlastně ten nejvíc realistický výsledek. Abych byla upřímná, jsem maličko zklamaná, když už se jedná o takhle fantastický koncept, doufala jsem ve víc vzrušující konec. Ale možná přesně to je ten point. Idk. Ještě kousek zbývá.

-with Kate & her life; the winter is harshening & they’ve suffered an attack + the loss of their matriarch. You can tell just how much Sean is slipping; she feels the grief as if it were her own. She’s so desperate for connection & belonging; she craves the acceptance of these wild animals. She’s antisocial with humans, she feels like she can’t be understood by them. Her brain is definitely being scrambled.

I’m not surprised Riya cheated on Sean; ik it can be tough to let go, but tbh, considering everything… Riya should’ve left Sean a while ago instead of this path they’re on. Having a “break” for 2 years while living in different countries is definitely not going to lead to reconnection. The sex scene where Sean discovers Riya cheating… unexpectedly spicy ngl. Sean is getting increasingly more engrossed-

-this collaboration & affection at home with her wife Riya, if she merely fostered their marriage.

Sean needs serious help; though ofc, she isn’t very receptive to therapy. It’s interesting how this book is evenly split in half between the wolf experiment & Sean’s home life with Riya. It really highlights how the two halves of Sean’s life are ironic parallels. Sean feels drawn to Kate the wolf; her lifestyle of hunting & pack affection. She doesn’t even piece together that she could have-

Interesting premise! Sean & Riya’s marriage is falling apart bc Sean won’t make time for their marriage but also bc Riya deems her experiments unethical, since the wolves can’t consent & they’re inserting themselves into the wolf’s consciousness. But Sean is going to essentially become a wolf. Crazed lesbian scientist! I’m listening to the audiobook.

This shit hits way too close to home. Ale vážně, je skoro až nepříjemný, kolik podobností s postavou Sean vidím.
Přečetla jsem tak půlku skoro v jednom tahu a celou dobu cítila tíži v žaludku. Uf.
Ale kniha dobrá. Nelíbí se mi ty reálie (bcs it'll be our future), ale dobrý. Uf.

This shit hits way too close to home. Ale jako vážně, skoro se cítím nepříjemně, jak moc
