McGuire's amazing writing skills have for the first time been a blessing & a curse. The unease, disgust, outrage, and just skin-crawling vibes to this little girl's day to day were wildly effective and well done, and I actively had to check how much longer until she finds her door. Thankfully not many at all at that point and though I'm always invested in this series, I've never been happier for a door to appear

She's 7!!! This is the hardest so far to read.

Okay, wow. I read the trigger warning, but this is already overwhelming.
All the wayward children books are heartbreaking, but this is definitely going to take a long minute to get through.
