No, flipping the narrative such that the rangers blundered on a camp where women and children happened to be while hunting the perps and telling me about how this tribe eventually vanished from the region isn't going to improve it. There is a difference between unintentional casualties and a planned raid on the helpless. You think these are equivalent things, but they are not.

Yet another author who tries to downplay the bad things the natives did by continually pointing out that they were displaced, with his favorite anecdotes being when the victims were rich or influential, but when you tell a story about armed warriors killing women and children in their own farmhouse while their men are away in a clearly planned raid... I'm not gonna care how "displaced" the perps were.
