I can't tell if they just keep referencing conversations they aren't having on screen or if I'm just not committing any aspect of this book to memory...

I'm gonna give it a bit more time, but this is creeping toward a DNF.

Okay. This is MY FAULT for reading book 3 in a series w/o reading the others, but! We have hit the part where every couple and side character from the prior books must be on page. These names mean nothing to me. There are like, 8 people in addition to the prior couples and I just... Do I need to remember Rob? Is he important? Can we get back to this book's couple?

I'm not giving up yet, but this book is on thin ice. I am struggling with the female protag's incompetence. She's supposedly doing "everything she can" to make her business a success, except then this man (who I do like so far) comes in & shows all of the very basic things she has not done to help her new restaurant succeed. Like... what???

Also, so far, their chemistry feels forced. Fingers crossed it gets better.

Off to a rough start. The salad shop conceit feels silly, esp. when Hailey continually proves she hasn't thought this through. What do you mean you don't have business cards? What do you mean you haven't done much (or any) marketing? What do you mean you're the only person on staff? And then when she takes a delivery she says she'll charge a fee, then refuses to accept it? Girl, is your business failing or not???
