Status Updates From Don't Cry for Me

For a man who is literally dying to make amends, he is denying himself and his son the opportunity to unburden themselves of any guilt they may feel. I wonder what Issac’s side of this story is…

Jacob’s only true obstacle throughout the entirety of his life story is himself. And there is nothing sadder to see than a man in his own way.

At first, when reading Jacob‘s references to death I thought it was just symbolic and or vernacular, but I never realize he had a gift similarly to Isaac. Whereas Isaac could talk to the dead, Jacob talks to death.

While I understand Isaac’s pain, I feel like he should’ve kept the house. At the very least, it’s something he could’ve given to his children.

These are the exact cycles that need to be broken. In Jacob’s case, he still liked women, so no one said anything to him— in addition to the fact that he told no one—but the same doesn’t apply to Isaac therefore he is demeaned.

That is such a heart wrenching thing to hear, that one parent killed the other. I keep saying it, but the more I read the more my heart breaks for Jacob and the more sense he makes
