This book had poor execution of what could've been a decent plot, no background into why any of plot should make any sense (why is magic outlawed? Why not go to another kingdom? What's the deal with religion?), royals that DON'T act like it or even realistically charateristic for that matter (any of them!), and two princes "one strong, one not" and somehow they're both the wimpyest characters I've ever read about.
