Fascinating read but so detailed that it took me a long time to finish it. If you are interested in Venice in the 13th-14th centuries (what a time!), the Silk Road, the Mongol empire at its most powerful, or the Khans Genghis and Kublai, then this is the book for you. During my reading sessions, I was constantly checking maps and facts online. I'm glad I read it.
