I don’t like how they just tell us how much and why they need this so bad. Also, Selene’s constant sexual comments are getting annoying af

So the whole class of 300 remaining aspirants is on this one mission? This is a big gripe I can't blame on the publisher. The number of people in these trials is too high. It makes the majority of the group nameless faceless goons we won't care about if they die. This should have been a small intimate class where each death is felt. That would also make sense for how elite this position is supposed to be.

I will say that too much of the death happens off screen for the full impact of how deadly these trials are to sink in. I'm sure a big part of that is having to cut a full book's worth of content from this series.
